4 Q1What is Amico Fido?
Amico Fido is the free app for dog owners: report dangers in real time, track your walks, create a memory diary and use artificial intelligence to protect your dog. Available on iOS and Android.
2Is the app free?
Yes, the core of the app is completely free: danger map, reports, dog profile, toxicity checker and memory diary cost nothing. Advanced features — like shared Safe Walk and AI Academy — are part of Amico Fido Club.
3Do I need to register to use the app?
Yes, registration is free and only takes a few seconds. You can sign up with email, Google or Apple ID.
4Which devices is the app available on?
Amico Fido is available on iPhone (iOS 16+) and Android (version 9+). You can use the same account on multiple devices without losing any data.
Map & Reports
5 Q5How does the danger map work?
The map shows all community reports in real time: poisoned baits, aggressive dogs, broken glass, traps and much more. Each report includes category, exact location, photos and description.
6How do I report a danger?
Press the "+" button on the main screen, choose the category, add a photo and a short description, then confirm the location. It takes less than a minute.
7Can I edit a report after submitting it?
Currently it is not possible to edit a submitted report. You can delete it from the "My Reports" section in your profile and create a corrected one.
8Who can see my reports?
All reports are visible to all registered users. If you choose to report anonymously, your name will not be displayed.
9Do reports expire?
Reports remain visible until they are archived by our team or flagged by the community as no longer relevant.

4 Q10What is the Safe Walk feature?
Safe Walk is the GPS tracking feature built into the app: it records distance, duration, route, moment photos and real-time weather. You can save every walk and relive your favourite moments.
11Does GPS tracking work with the screen off?
Yes, thanks to the background service, GPS continues to record the route even with the app minimised or the screen locked, on both iOS and Android.
12Can I share my walk in real time?
Yes, with Amico Fido Club you can enable shared mode: your friends see your position in real time on the map during the walk, for added safety.
13Does Safe Walk drain the battery?
The GPS tracking is optimised to consume as little as possible. On a one-hour walk, the extra consumption is usually less than 5–8% battery.
Dog Profile & AI
3 Q14Can I add multiple dogs to my profile?
Yes, you can add all your dogs and manage a complete profile for each one: name, breed, weight, allergies, diet, photos and much more.
15What is the AI dog profile?
By entering your dog's data (breed, age, weight, allergies and diet), the artificial intelligence generates a personalised description and practical breed-specific tips. The AI never invents information not provided.
16What is the toxicity checker?
With the toxicity checker you can photograph or search by name any plant, flower or food to immediately know if it is dangerous for your dog, with a risk level and advice on what to do.
Notifications
2 Q17Can I receive notifications for dangers near me?
Yes. In the app settings you can enable push notifications for new reports in your area, choosing the distance radius and the categories you care about.
18Why am I not receiving notifications?
Check that notifications are enabled in both the device settings (Settings → Notifications → Amico Fido) and the app. Also make sure you have an active internet connection.
GPS & Location
2 Q19Why does the app require location access?
Location is needed to show you nearby reports and to record the route during Safe Walk. The app never shares your exact location without your explicit consent.
20Can I use the map without sharing my location?
Yes, you can explore the map manually without enabling GPS. Location-based reporting, danger notifications and walk tracking require location to work correctly.
Privacy & Security
3 Q21Is my data safe?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and the servers comply with GDPR (EU) and FADP (Switzerland) regulations. We never sell personal data to third parties.
22Can I report anonymously?
Yes, you can choose not to show your name in reports. Anonymity only applies to the visible name: technical data is still recorded to prevent abuse.
23Can I delete my account?
Yes, you can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data from our servers.

2 Q24How do I change my password?
Go to Profile → Settings → Change password. If you forgot your password, use the "Forgot password" link on the login screen.
25How do I contact support?
You can write to us directly from the app (Profile → Help → Contact us) or via the form on our website. We usually reply within 24–48 hours on business days.
